The School has six departments viz. Economics, Commerce, Management, Library & Information Science, Mass Communication and Tourism & Hospitality Management. In addition to PG programme, all the departments have been offering M.Phil and Ph.D. programmes, It is a regular feature in the school to organize national and international seminars and workshops. A good number of passed out students of the school have occupied coveted positions in many reputed organizations.

Goals of the School (for next five years 2023-28)
During next five years, the School of Economics, Management and Information Science (SEMIS), Mizoram University (MzU) aims to impart specialised education through their post graduate programs among over 1,000 young students in the fields of Business, Industry, Media, Tourism & Hospitality and Information Science. Further, all the six Departments in the School intend to provide able supervision for over 100 doctoral students and publish over 400 quality research papers.
